There's a lot of people in Europe who do marketing in English. But there's no one else here who understands how the English-speaking consumer thinks and has inside knowledge of the North American market, quite like me.

I spent over 20 years working in the Canadian grocery industry, as head of marketing and working on the buying side for Italian food products. I know exactly where good products stumble when they reach English-speaking consumers, and I'll help you get it right.

My Philosophy

Design that gets noticed on a crowded shelf.

Words that survive the trip across the ocean.

Strategy built on how the market actually works.

Your product is world-class. Your English marketing should be too.

About

I work as an independent consultant, which means you get senior experience directly, without the overhead, layers, or politics of a traditional agency.

What I Believe In

I work differently than a big agency. I’m not chasing awards, and I won’t spend your budget helping me win one. I won’t push you toward trendy technology or gimmicks because they’re fun to play with. Smart strategy, strong design, and communication that actually works for you, that’s it. I can work with your existing marketing team or from the outside to give you a fresh perspective. Either way, my focus is you and your business. Nothing else.

Where I Am

I’m based in Milan, Italy and backed by a team of expert creative professionals across two continents. That means I understand the European brands I work with up close, and I stay genuinely connected to the North American market they’re trying to reach. Wherever the work needs to happen, I can be there.

Who I Am

I’m Nash Huntley, a brand strategist with over 20 years in North American retail marketing, most of it in the food sector and the last several years leading marketing at a senior level. I now work with European brands that want their marketing to succeed in English. I bring the insider perspective most agencies can only guess at, and I work alongside a network of experienced creative professionals I bring in as each project needs.

North American Consumers

A product that flies off the shelf at home can sit untouched in North America. Same quality, same price, but the brand is left wondering what went wrong. Usually the answer is simple: North American consumers don’t think, shop, or decide the way your home market does.

This is the side of the business I know best. What catches their attention and what they ignore, what builds trust and what kills it, why they reach for one product over the near-identical one beside it. I help you shape your brand and message around how these consumers actually make decisions, not how you assume they should.

Get this right and everything else gets easier, because you’re finally selling to the customer you actually have, not the one you imagined.

North American Retail

Getting your product onto a North American shelf is one thing. Understanding how that market actually works once it’s there is another, and it’s where a lot of European brands get caught off guard.

I spent over 20 years inside North American grocery retail, so I know it from the inside: how buyers decide what to stock, how shoppers actually behave in the aisle, what the packaging and labeling rules really demand, and the dozens of small realities that you don’t know about until you’re already committed. That’s knowledge you usually only get by making expensive mistakes first.

I help you skip the mistakes and get it right the first time, so your product shows up ready for the market.

English Copywriting

Translation turns Italian into English but copywriting makes English sell. They’re not the same thing, and hiring a translator to do a copywriter’s work is a mistake, and frankly, it’s why a lot of good products struggle.

Here’s what I bring that a translator or a European marketing agency can’t. I know what a brand needs to say, and I know what an English-speaking consumer is actually listening for, because I’ve spent my career in both of those worlds. Not just correct English, but English that makes someone choose you.

Websites, packaging, campaigns, brand materials. If your English doesn’t sound like it belongs, your product won’t either.

Communication

Where design shows who you are, words say it. I build the messaging that carries your brand: what you say, how you say it, and how you come across to the people you want to reach.

This is where positioning gets decided, the difference between sounding like everyone else in your category and sounding like the obvious choice. For brands selling into English-speaking markets, it’s also where a lot gets won or lost, because a message that works in one language and culture can miss completely in another.

Design

Design is more than how something looks. It’s one of the most powerful tools you have for showing people who you are. In a market crowded with choices, it’s often what makes someone stop and pay attention instead of scrolling past.

I use research-driven design to build brand materials that actually connect with the people you’re trying to reach, from logos to packaging to everything that carries your name.

Design that sells, not just decorates.

Brand Strategy

Your brand isn’t your logo or your name. It’s what people think and feel when they hear it, the sum of how you look, sound, and act. It lives in your customer’s head, not on your letterhead. Strong brands aren’t just lucky. They’re built on strategy that decides, on purpose, what people see, hear, and experience.

I start by finding the gap between where your brand is now and where it needs to be to hit your goals. Then we close it, with a strategy that’s true to who you are and built to hold up in a market that doesn’t already know you.

Brand strategy won’t guarantee growth. But you won’t get there without it.
